before you begin to study

begins to study,

bismillah alhamdulilah
i intend to learn and to teach and to remind myself of my obligations to Allah and to remind others, benefit myself by learning sacred knowledge and to benefit others with the knowledge, to exalt others to hold fast to the Quran and the Sunnah of the Messenger (SAW) to call people to guidance and to demonstrate what is good, i intend all of this to intend to seek the pleasure of Allah, the his nearer and his blessing, Glorified and Exalted is He

after making intention we must realise this knowledge is a gift from Allah  we should approach it with gratitude.

we should be honest about how much we know, therefore we should choose courses with the intention to build a strong foundation. Even if the course seems basic we should realize we can get a lot out of it. When picking courses we should take our schedule in account, which means if we should consider if we have children, work, school, need to take care of elderly etc... another thing to consider is if we are a morning people or evening people, we might not be able to get a course schedule which is tailor made to us but we should remember this knowledge is a gift therefore we should show gratitude to Allah and prioritize for it.

while listening to the recorded lesson or live lesson we should minimize the distraction, there should be no other things going on, no emailing, instant messaging, surfing the web, watching television or any other things in that nature. we should also turn down cell phones or home phones if possible, and for mothers you should really chose time when your childrens are asleep so you can focus better on your studies. Also remember to let your family member that you have to study, if you take it seriously, inshAllah they will. And remember to take notes and review over and over again, and you should try teaching what you have learn to a spouse or a family member friends, parents if they are encouraging and get feedbacks from them . and if we are confused about anything we should write our questions down and make sure we take them to our live sections. every day spend little time on it is better than taking whole day at the end trying to rush things up. Sometimes you might find that you have to shut down your computer to suit family time but this is the beauty of online studies it does fit into your life style.

Finally and most importantly, this knowledge should have an immediate impact on our lives. Pray that Allah purify our intention
